Ceramic Kiln wiring help
10
I am looking for an electrical opinion on wiring an electric ceramic kiln. It was gifted to me but was missing the manual, and online help has been very slim. It is a 45amp kiln with no kiln sitter and I need to wire it straight to breaker box. I have an existing 50 amp breaker with #8 wire hooked into the breaker but it is not connected to anything (was there for a stove connection that never got completely hooked up). Could I use this or do I need a bigger gauge wire? #6? It's less than 20 ft away from the kiln and could be moved closer (within 4 ft). If anyone has any previous electrical experience specifically to ceramic kilns I would appreciate the advice. Thanks!
