What, you looking for some obscure fanfic here simbi? 1400 characters in the "About You" section to move that Profile Strength bar a few percentage points? I'm not going to copy/paste from my outdated cover letter template again, that's just tacky. Should I just restate my thesis in different terms as many times as I can to hit that word count like the perennial undergrad student that we both know that I am?

THE COMMUNITY WANTS TO KNOW YOU.

In some dead language somewhere probably, the verb "to know" exists with two different interpretations. One is a knowledge that is derived from understanding, and the other is a knowledge that is gathered from experience. With these concepts in mind, how can one possibly grapple that task in 1400 characters? Or any amount of characters, for that matter? Our growing sense of isolation over the last decade may be caused — in part — by a misplaced trust in these platforms to be the vessel through which we "know" and are "known by" others; body language and facial gestures and a lifetime's worth of subtext reduced to 12pt.
