Rubber Duck Programming
50
I'll be your 'rubber duck' for you to work through your programming tasks. This means that I will listen to you explain your program's logic as you develop and debug it. A rubber duck who is also a programmer can be rather helpful.
The term 'rubber duck', in this context, comes from the tradition of a programmer placing a rubber duck on his/her desk. They would then speak to the duck aloud as if it was listening. Speaking aloud each step of one's broken logic is akin to untying a knotted rope.
As a programmer, I enjoy taking part in this because it gives me a way to effortlessly experience someone else's logic and use it to build upon my own methods. It's like peer programming, except we don't get caught up in each other's code and stylistic differences. The only logic exchange between us is verbal.
