I have a well-loved home preserving library. Tell me what vegetable or fruit you want to learn to preserve, and I will share a favourite recipe with you and walk you through any terms or processes you are unfamiliar with. I can also share my expert opinion on any canning recipe you find online (or from your grandma's recipe box) for safety and trustworthiness in a modern canning kitchen. I will help you get your kitchen ready for canning by reviewing the essential equipment you need to get started or try something new. Canning isn't scary at all! You got this!
Training & Qualifications
Qualifications: A skilled facilitator and coach with 7 years experience hot water bath and pressure cooking at home, an Ontario food safety certificate, 8 hands-on home custom designed preserving workshops for farms, not for profits, and the canning collective Summer Squirrel, and 10 years working on an organic CSA farm, I'm basically your enthusiastic friend who is inviting you over to make chocolate raspberry jam, dilly beans, peanut sauce, and peaches in a light honey syrup.
