Strength Training Advice

I need help on strength training, I just don't know where to start.
About me: I'm a 27yo 145lb female. I work in corrections and I'm trying to get on the CERT team. The physical requirements that I'm worried about are 2 pull ups, and 34 pushups in 1 minute. I currently can do maybe 4 pushups max, and I can't do pull ups at all. The physical exam is in 8 months . Yup, I need help!
So what should I be doing? What exercises, what weights, how many reps? Should I be using proteins? How much, how often, whey or soy? Should I bother with preworkout?
I don't care about how toned I get or how much I weigh or anything else. I just want to meet the strength requirements. If you could Skype or message me that would be perfect. I'm willing to pay simbi per advice session.
