About Amy Burns

Hi there! I have been involved with music in many capacities my entire life. I started playing the piano when I was 4, and started singing at age 5. I took to music right away, as my mother always ...tells the story of how I would hear a song, and then play it on the piano. By age 9, I was taking violin lessons. My orchestra teacher discovered I had the gift of perfect pitch, which has helped me in so many ways. I went on to work with some amazing musicians throughout my career....studio musicians for Fleetwood Mac, Brian Page and the Next, The Phoenix Symphony, Warrant, Keel, as well as many others. I have played in many bands, from blues to rock to pop. I have written, recorded and produced several CD's. I also have had a wonderful career teaching piano and voice to hundreds of students, and have assembled choirs in churches and schools. A lot of my students are still hanging out with me....we continue to sing together in various venues. I love working one-on-one with the youth, as I can individualize personalities with that connection. My additional hobbies are sports - I am a HUGE sports fan....and I think sports correlate well with music on many levels. I also like the outdoors, exercising, and hanging out with people.
