I've been using linux since '99 and know it inside and out. The distributions I've used most recently are gentoo, ubuntu, and centos. and arch. I've worked with all areas including UI setup, printer and other peripherals, udev rules, system services such as samba (smb) and nfs file sharing protocols. I've also built custom kernels for very small systems such as a car stereo that boots in <9 seconds.
Training & Qualifications
Software engineer with >30 years experience. Worked with linux since the 2.4 kernel. Am proficient with virtual machines, building kernels and driver modules, multimedia systems (kodi, mythtv). Am proficient with all PC hardware, can make most chipsets used work with linux. Have worked with most desktop environments including unity, gnome, kde, xfce, etc.
