I am a student of history, and bartering was the way of the past; why can't it also be the way of the future? I am an educator working with heavily disadvantaged children, children whom economics have decided aren't worth our country's time and effort. I can't help but wonder what might have been if we valued skills and ideas over green paper and silver disks.
I wonder what history will make of us, knowing what we've done to ourselves, and what we might still do in the coming years. Perhaps we're in need of simpler times once more, times when skills and innovation were what kept you going. But perhaps I'm just a pessimist, stuck seeing what we were, rather than what we can become.
Beyond that, I'm a wife, a dog- and cat-mom, and a lover of beauty. I have training as a childcare provider, an archaeologist, and a cultural researcher. I love to learn!
