30 simbi per package - Virtual OK

Let me say right off - I'm not an artist; not trained in graphic design; not a "professional". But, if you have a "simple" (famous last words) graphic need (flyer, poster, business card, logo, etc) I "may" be able to help you.

Virtually speaking - you send me a description of what you want via Simbi messages. Then, if agreeable, in subsequent messages - you would send any supporting files/images/ etc and I perform the work in my home on my old desktop computer. I would email back a rough draft to see if we are on the same page - and go from there.

If you are local, we could also meet face to face in a local coffee shop (close to me - "Old" Thornton). But, I don't have a laptop, so I would still be doing the work at home and trading messages with you (I don't give out my ph #.). Once completed - the final product could simply be sent via email - or I could load on a usb thumb-drive, provided by you.

I love working with graphic design and I've been developing my skills, part time, off and on, for several years.

GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is my graphics and photo editing software; open source; very similar to Photoshop.
I use GIMP for all my graphics related projects.
GIMP produces raster (bitmap) graphics - not vector (google raster vs vector).
Although I have a tiny bit of experience with vector graphics (Inkscape), such skills are pretty minimal.

I work in "layers" which allows me to manipulate each element separately. This also gives me the freedom to save a design in layers and go back again and again to make design changes without having to start all over again from scratch.

Training & Qualifications

Let me say right off - I'm not an artist; not trained in graphic design; not a "professional".
My skills are self taught in my spare time for nearly 10 years.

Availability & Preferences

I'm retired, so my schedule is open.

Trading Preference: I’m flexible, just hit me up!

About Wilbur Klick

I'm a retired guy; in my sixties. Some of my current hobbies / pursuits are: photography; photo editing; graphic design; yoga; fitness; West Coast Swing; aikido and general handyman kinds of pro...jects. Simbi says I need to write more: My oh my - time flies - I just did a little math and it looks as though I've been in Colorado a little over 25 years. I've been a vagabond thru much of my life - since childhood; around the country and abroad; moved to Boulder from Santa Fe; lived in Boulder and Louisville for a year or two and then moved to the Denver metro area. I'm an agnostic - experimented with different beliefs; never committed to any; pretty secular, but I like new-age and metaphysical because I think magic and mystery is important. Or, as Ken Kesey put it: "I'm for mystery, not interpretive answers. … The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer, but they think they have. So they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer." I guess, not to put too much emphasis on it, I was on a sort of "spirit quest" for - to varying degrees - most of my younger life and into my 50s. I don't think I ever really "arrived". I've had to take time off, from time to time, to pay more attention to to things like food and shelter. Now, I suppose I'm approaching the possibility of putting myself back on the path . Joseph Campbell used to say "Follow your bliss". He wrote The Heroes Journey and The Power of Myth; among others. Campbell talked about heroes, warriors and journeys (influenced Lucas and the creation of Star Wars). Another book that influenced me in my thirties was The Way of the Peaceful Warrior (Dan Millman). You may see a picture forming - a timid explorer on a "journey"; moving from one path to the next, stumbling toward the top of the mountain; stopping, sometimes for years, sheltering in huts and caves along the way. This has been a solitary journey. I am still "timid" in some ways; still "in the dark" in some ways. Maybe if I had another 50 years, I'd make it to the top of that mountain, but - and this is probably kind of important - it's really about the journey - "being" on the path. I'm not "intelligent" by any conventional definition. I'm a shy introvert. "If You Meet The Buddha On The Road, Kill Him" - an old saying probably adapted from a zen koan. My road has been rocky and littered with dead ends and false profits. Blah-blah, blah-blah . . . blah-blah. Everyone - has their own path. Somebody much wiser than I once wrote: You put your whole self in You take your whole self out You put your whole self in And you shake it all about You do the hokey pokey And you turn yourself around That's what it's all about links: Joseph Campbell http://billmoyers.com/content/ep-1-joseph-campbell-and-the-power-of-myth-the-hero%E2%80%99s-adventure-audio/ Dan Millman speaks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mgq5cb3YS0 What is? Can we get "Closer to Truth"? I want "answers" and "mystery" - I want it all. https://www.closertotruth.com/ show more
