Coffee, Breakfast, and Conversation
I'll make breakfast for you if you come over to my house.
I'm a morning person, I like making breakfast and I like company! A normal breakfast day (these days) for me consists of coffee, eggs, yogurt, granola, maybe some fruit, a starchy thing. The starchy thing could be: toast, oatmeal, pancakes, homefries, rice.
I make fairly high quality coffee, grind the beans in a hand burr grinder, individually brew with an Aeropress (inverted, of course). It's probably a single origin African, as is my taste.
I like to talk a lot. And I like sharing ideas and points of view. If you come over, we'll talk about breakfast philosophies, art, culture, personal stories. I'm not well versed in politics, pop culture, or entertainment, but they interest me.
Training & Qualifications
I'm good at making breakfast; I've made a fairly extravagant breakfast every day for the past 10 years. Like, 3-4 courses, every time. People say, "Albert, how do you eat so much?" Truthfully, I get stuffed, but it seems like the right move.
I took this coffee class at Fourbarrel a few years ago, and learned the basics of brewing single cups at home. It's not a fancy latte, but I do put a lot of care into the specific parameters (heat, steep time, grind setting) and the ritual of the technique.
Availability & Preferences
Breakfast time, on weekdays. For me, that's like sometime between 8AM and 11AM. You'll have to come to my place in Berkeley.
I ask that you spend between 30 and 60 minutes! It'll take me a little time to cook, and I enjoy the conversation over the meal.
