When buying second hand, it can be very tough to tell what (if anything) that bicycle is worth. As with any mechanical device, shiny paint isn't a sign of a good buy. Having worked in the industry for over a decade, I cannot count the number of times I have dealt with customers who paid way too much for a used bicycle. BEFORE handing over your hard earned money, get an expert opinion. From the posted ad/description/pictures:
I'll give you a rough estimate of what the bicycle is worth in a good/better/best condition, a breakdown of what it may need in terms of upkeep, and will demystify the "needs a little work". I will also provide an unbiased "is it worth it?" assessment.
