Meal Planning for College Students

10

10 per unit - Virtual OK

It can be hard to eat healthy at school and on a budget. Stresses from school and social life can take away your time. Once midterms and finals hit and you're stuck in the library, eating good food gets tossed out the window. But this doesn't need to be the case.

I will help you establish your needs and plan your meals around your diet, schedule, and circumstances. Depending on your needs, we can talk about how to plan a shopping trip, meal planning for one, healthy eating, cooking for one, cooking fast meals, using the microwave to cook, etc. It doesn't matter if you only have a microwave, dorm kitchen, or if you have your own apartment. You can enjoy life more through good food.

Perhaps you are feeling like some Italian, Chinese, Thai, or plain comfort food? I can give you some of my quick go-to recipes.

10 Simbi counts for a 30 minute conversation. We can chat on Line, Hangouts, or SMS, talk on the telephone, or video chat on Skype. We'll figure it out!

Training & Qualifications

Ever since I was nine, I enjoyed cooking for myself and my family. Currently I'm in my third year of cooking for one in college. I've lived in three different living situations in college: in a dorm with no access to a kitchen (Hello, dorm food and microwave meals!), in a dorm with access to a kitchen (but a long walk to the kitchen), and in my own apartment.

I'm currently eating good food on a weekly budget of $37, cooking all my meals

I try my best to keep my meals healthy but delicious. I have a repertoire of go-to recipes , but I especially love to try new food when I have the chance. I'm Thai-American so if you like to cook some Thai food, just ask!

Ask a Homeschooled Kid

About Tya Chuanromanee

I'm a fourth year computer science student at a co-op school. I've been coding since elementary school and am still enjoying it! In addition to writing code, I also love teaching and research. I can h...elp you with your website, script, homework, or I can teach you some programming. Before college, I was homeschooled all my K-12 years (preschool doesn't count!). I loved those years of being homeschooled and being able to learn things that I wanted at my own pace. And my experience did not set me back academically at all. In fact, I was offered many scholarships when applying for college, and accepted a full-tuition scholarship to a top-ranked engineering school in the Midwest. I'm a second generation Thai-American, born and raised in the USA. I can understand, speak, read, and write Thai pretty well. I know what it's like to have to reconcile cultural differences when dealing with the outside world vs home, and what it feels like to "not be Asian enough." I'm nonbinary, which means I'm neither a dude or a lady. I've been out for a few years now, and I generally present as masculine of center. While I'm trans, I'm also Christian. I went through things like being outed, being harassed because of my presentation, being othered, being kicked out of the bathroom, and being rejected by a church community. However, the bright side is that I'm a member of a very accepting community now! You can ask me anything about my experience or my identity in general in my service below! I'm looking forward to meeting you and sharing our experiences together. Hit me up!show more
