Ask a Genderqueer/Nonbinary Person

5

5 per session - Virtual OK

Do you want to know more about nonbinary people but are afraid to be offensive? Are you questioning your gender identity? Do you want to talk to another trans person who is understanding about your own identity? I have you covered! I will answer any and all well-meaning questions about trans people you may have.

I can answer questions about the basics of trans identity to my own personal lived experience as a trans person. We can talk about gender, bathrooms, presentation, social and physical transitioning, culture, race, parts, and religion. I can also lend an ear to your identity-related questions and help you in any way I can.

We can talk on the phone or though Skype for 30 minutes, chat through an app such as Line or plain SMS for 5 questions, or you can email me up to 5 questions and I can answer thoughtfully and thoroughly for you. I'm flexible any way you want to do it!

Training & Qualifications

I'm an AFAB nonbinary person. More specifically, I'm agender, meaning I don't have a gender, and I've been out to myself since 2009 and out to the world since 2014.

My other identities which make up my whole identity include being second generation Thai American, queer, hard of hearing, and religious (evangelical Christian). I have gone through some hard stuff, especially stuff that is related to my trans identity, so I am understanding towards your problems as a trans person.

Availability & Preferences

Ask a Homeschooled Kid

About Tya Chuanromanee

I'm a fourth year computer science student at a co-op school. I've been coding since elementary school and am still enjoying it! In addition to writing code, I also love teaching and research. I can h...elp you with your website, script, homework, or I can teach you some programming. Before college, I was homeschooled all my K-12 years (preschool doesn't count!). I loved those years of being homeschooled and being able to learn things that I wanted at my own pace. And my experience did not set me back academically at all. In fact, I was offered many scholarships when applying for college, and accepted a full-tuition scholarship to a top-ranked engineering school in the Midwest. I'm a second generation Thai-American, born and raised in the USA. I can understand, speak, read, and write Thai pretty well. I know what it's like to have to reconcile cultural differences when dealing with the outside world vs home, and what it feels like to "not be Asian enough." I'm nonbinary, which means I'm neither a dude or a lady. I've been out for a few years now, and I generally present as masculine of center. While I'm trans, I'm also Christian. I went through things like being outed, being harassed because of my presentation, being othered, being kicked out of the bathroom, and being rejected by a church community. However, the bright side is that I'm a member of a very accepting community now! You can ask me anything about my experience or my identity in general in my service below! I'm looking forward to meeting you and sharing our experiences together. Hit me up!show more
