After graduating from SFU with a B.A. in Geography and a GIS certificate, Trung Ngo has gained a lot of valuable experience and skillsets in GIS through various courses, projects and volunteering. Trung recently won an award at SFU GIS DAY 2016 for developing a forest fire propagation model of Cypress Mountain in North Vancouver. He aslo spent quite some time volunteering for Downtown Eastside SRO Collaborative to help them develop online maps of the SROs and their ownership in order to improve habitability and prevent renovictions in SRO hotels in Vancouver. Currently, he is doing the GIS Advanced Diploma at BCIT to advance his technical skills and knowledge. In the future, he is very interested in applying GIS and programming to analyze and visualize data in order to provide solutions to complex geospatial problems for both private and public sectors.
