Training & Qualifications
I use a method called e-prime. By rewriting your draft without using any form of the verb "to be," all sentences will contain an action verb somewhere. This invokes the reader's imagination and pushes them through the sentence. Your English teacher may have called this the "active voice" when they encouraged you to use it instead of the "passive voice." Example of passive voice: "it was done." Example of active voice: "you did it"
