About Tracey Hickey
I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, with a BA in Nonfiction Writing and a certificate in Women's Studies. For most of my undergrad career, I also wrote an opinions column for The Pitt News and did communications and social media for campus Women's Organization. After graduating, I lived for two years in Gainesville, Florida, where I held a number of jobs in areas as varied as transcription, meal monitoring and data collection for adults with Prader-Willi Syndrome, and day care teaching.
Now I am moving to Albany, New York, and seeking a job in writing, advocacy, education, child care or care and advocacy for adults with disabilities. By the end of this year, I hope to be enrolled in a Master of Social Work program.
I have had a number of nonprofit and advocacy internships, and consider myself a skilled blogger, advocate and social media liaison. I am also a highly compassionate, ethical and competent care provider, and love providing care and assistance to both children and adults.
I am studying Spanish and American Sign Language, with the goal of being able to communicate as effectively as possible with the widest variety of people.
