Special Education consultation
30
I will provide a one time consultation for special education or 504 services including IEP review, ARD guidance, what to expect meeting, important laws and rights of the family, how to work the system in a healthy way, and anything else you might need. I have my master's degree in special education so I am highly trained in the ethics and legality of special education as well as the evaluation and admission processes. I have also been teaching for several years and know the academic side as well. I am also familiar with the evaluation aspect of the ARD or 504 meeting. I have helped administer several common assessments used to diagnose learning disabilities and behavioral problems in student.
I have seen many families of newly diagnosed children get lost in the shuffle of this process and I just would like to help if I can.
Training & Qualifications
I have my bachelors and masters degrees in special education and I am an experienced classroom teacher in life skills, resource and inclusion, severe and profound, and autism. I have personally participated in hundreds of IEP meetings, often leading the meetings. I have written IEP for all of my students over the last five years and know the process very well. I have assisted diagnosticians with evaluations and am also familiar with the process of testing students who are suspected of needing special education or 504 services.
Availability & Preferences
I am usually free in the evenings starting around 3 or 4, but I check my email often and can answer quick questions almost any time.
