I am a RD (registered dietitian) who currently works in a hospital setting but have a passion for community health, wellness, and disease prevention and management. I enjoy exercise and managing my own health. Contrary to what people believe, I do eat junk food too -- just not all the time! It's all about moderation -- not restricting yourself to just vegetables, fruit, and water!

Do you have heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, gastrointestinal-related disease, etc? Do you have an elderly loved one who is losing weight and declining in health? Or are you trying to better manage your weight and health, have your diet compliment your workout/weight loss plan, or prepare for an event (5K, 10K, 1/2 marathon, full Marathon, tough mudder, Spartan race, etc)?

Whatever your goal is then I would love to be a part of it to help you achieve success.

Training & Qualifications


-Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
-Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition Science from UC Davis
-Master's of Science in Nutrition Science from Central Washington University

Availability & Preferences

About Solomon Young

I am a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) currently working in home health and acute care w/ knowledge and experience providing nutrition education to patients, students, and other health care pr...ofessionals. My focus is using evidenced-based science -- not some sort of trend or made up BS. I'm not going to promote liquid fasts, detoxing, going paleo or "gluten-free" (unless you are diagnosed by a physician to have celiacs disease or sensitivity), "carbs are evil" approach. Weight loss and health is something that has to be sustainable and maintained throughout life -- can you survive on shots of apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper w/ lemon juice cocktails, and coffee enemas for the rest of your life? I don't think so ;) I have experience providing nutrition education on different diseases including but not limited to diabetes, heart failure, high blood pressure, kidney disease (pre-dialysis and during dialysis), celiacs, diverticulitis, diverticulosis, ulcerative colitis, bariatric surgery, etc. I work daily to optimize nutrition for those who have lost weight (elderly people with poor nutrition intake, after surgery, or patients with cancer) or provide education on how to optimize and manage your health. My hobbies include exercise (weight lifting, calistenchics, and running), working on cars, and traveling. I set a goal to do 1 event each year so physical fitness as part of a healthy lifestyle is important to me. I didn't do any goals during the past year or so because of the pandemic but in the prior years ran my 1st marathon (Honolulu 2019), tough Mudder, Spartan Beast, SF Urbanathlon, SF Rock n roll 1/2 marathon, and several 5K runs. show more
