"Air goes in and out. Blood goes round and round. Anything else is a problem." As an Aerospace Medicine Craftsman in the United States Air Force, I received recognition as an Honor Graduate in Basic Military Training, an honor that less than 10% of all graduates receive. In technical training, I was named the Distinguished Graduate, after being nominated by each instructor. At my duty station, after being named Alabama Governor's Outstanding Service Member of the Year, I was awarded Senior Airman Below the Zone and promoted six months ahead of my peers. I was 1 of 3 recipients for the entire Air Force base. Just months later, in a time of cut backs and the lowest promotion rate in years, I tested and was selected for the rank of Staff Sergeant. I have since transferred to the United States Air Force Reserve. I was recently selected as Non-Commissioned Officer of the quarter then Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year for 2015.
These accomplishments reflect my drive and desire to succeed. I have management experience- I was the lead technician on a family practice team. I was chosen for this position ahead of people with more experience and rank. My team was highly efficient, earning multiple clinic wide awards for proficiency, timeliness and customer satisfaction. I implemented new programs that proved to be successful and cut down error correction time. I trained staff on new guidelines and within one week saw a ten percent decrease in errors.
I graduated with a degree in Practical Nursing Technology in 2015. I currently work as a Health Care Finder for Humana Government Business (TRICARE South Region).
