About Sharon Sultan Cutler
Call me "The Positive Aging Activist" as I enjoy my life's third chapter each and every day.
I love filling niches in business- to-consumer services. My core passion has always been to be the connecting hand helping consumers find valuable information, resources, products and services at different life stages and ages, particularly for baby boomers and seniors.
After parenting, I dove into a new career path by launching a Long-Island based nanny agency. (It also provided me with excellent nannies for my two active sons!) I also was featured in a 5-page Newsday article as I went around the USA and had Nanny Job Fairs to personally meet qualified caregivers. Eventually, this expanded into a Nurse's Registry and a Home Health Care Agency.
Then, I decided that people 50-plus needed reliable resources, products and services, and began Mature Resources Network, similar to today's Angie's List and Home Adviser. Taking that to the next level, I created Long Island's first semi-annual 50-Plus Expos, with over 100 exhibitors and major business sponsors plus thousands of guests. I was featured in many media articles including a May 14, 1995 Q & A feature article on me in The New York Times called Riding A Demographic Wave, Marketing to the Over 50's. Yes, I was one of the first in this field.
Fuji TV in Japan was fascinated by my interest in helping baby boomers and I became the subject of a television segment on "News Japan," seen by 50 million Japanese people.
Then, I created MatureResources.org, a monthly online magazine with many contributors, feature articles, resources, & a Business Directory.
At 70, I created and co-authored my first book, Bandstand Diaries, about the early days of American Bandstand. The coffee-table book has sold thousands of copies, especially to people 65-plus.
Now I am writing Your NEW YOU After 65, an upcoming self-help and motivational book.
