I'm a developer. That's not just some description of what I do; it's a description of my passion, skills, and trajectory. In late 2014 my close friend who was a .NET developer encouraged my desire to start a career as a programmer by ensuring me that the absence of a CS degree would not hinder my pursuit of knowledge and eventual employment. I believed him. I'm so glad I did too.

Over the past year I have studied the languages C#, Java, Ruby, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, JSON/XML, HTML, PHP, and many frameworks. Through my job at Catalyst Learning Company, the direct mentoring of friends, the indirect mentoring of instructors and message boards, and constant practice I've come to be confident and comfortable with these languages and more importantly, the principles and practice of good programming.
