Ever since I was 5 ½ and first stuck a 5 ½ inch floppy into those disk slots and saw the computer light up, I was enchanted by technology. My early years were spent modifying games and other programs.... After crafting a complete mod for a game at 13, I knew what field I wanted to work in. Professors and peers at Louisiana Tech added even more fuel to that fire, especially when I remade a fully functional final fantasy clone at the end of my first year of college. While my passion for creating engaging virtual worlds is still strong, my focus has switched to education. And while many of professors taught well enough, there were some that just didn't belong in their position. Unenthused and unaware how to capture their audience, I started to realize that there had to be another way. It wouldn't be long after that when I found Khan Academy, a revolutionary idea that humanizes the classroom by connecting peers to each by enabling students to receive classes from the best lecturers in the world through online video. These instructional videos not only decreased the amount of time I had to study, it sparked a passion that is still burning stronger and is stronger than ever. This world needs our students engaged and we have barely touched the tip of the iceberg when it comes leveraging technology to enhance our capabilities to learn. This why I’m here at Fenway. I feel like this is the best place to make that happen. Teaching students and providing quality work. I thrive on time-crunched projects and love to help guide associates to not just be an exceptional professional but to learn how to learn and build the habit of learning every day.
