I'll tell you ahead of our meeting what materials you will need for a scarf, which is a great beginner's project. We'll meet at a coffee shop for an hour and a half and I'll show you the basic stitches. I'll help you get your scarf started, then watch and instruct while you knit or crochet. I'll show you how to troubleshoot basic issues and how to cast off in order to finish your first scarf project.
Training & Qualifications
I worked at a knitting shop for several years, where I taught classes on beginning knitting and crochet. I have been knitting and crocheting for over a decade. I also like felting, needle felting, and sometimes doing needlepoint. There's something magical about watching simple yarn become fabric, and fabric take shape to become a garment or accessorie.
