Events with live music require special care and consideration.
If you're considering hosting an event with live music, or if you are new to running a venue, I will offer general guidance for how to make the event a success. I specialize in smaller venues and community events in particular. This includes weddings, bars, small festivals, arts festivals, farmers markets, private venues, etc.
Proper organization, attentive communication, and general networking skills are some of the key components to making your event run well. Planning an event is a task on its own, but planning an event with live entertainment carries a specific set of tasks. Whether you are a venue owner and you're considering bringing music into your establishment, or a community organizer looking for entertainment for the day, I can offer guidance on:
- how to locate a band or group of performers
-how to communicate with the performers or talent manager
-addressing practical needs such as lighting and sound
-considering budget
-various do's and don'ts
I can cover these and other details over email or over Skype conversations. I'm happy to offer long-term consultation if needed, as aspects of the music business are subject to frequent change. As a disclaimer, I am not a venue owner and my knowledge does not extend to the intricacies of running a venue, I specialize more in the organization and communication aspects of bringing a show to life.
