Sometimes it's easier to get advice from the outside looking in, from an unbiased perspective. Surprisingly, no one will listen to their mother, their best friend, their lover, like they do a stranger. I hate that word, "stranger", it omits a perspective that, just because someone doesn't know you fully... they can't understand you. In reality, more people are alike than not alike. Humans have more in common than you would think.. From experience, talking to someone who has a new perspective on what you tell them, sometimes, they can give the BEST advice. Sure, mothers know best... Sometimes.. But mothers, friends, lovers, are trying to protect you, and I've always considered myself to be that friend that tells people what they NEED to hear, not necessarily what they WANT to hear.. And that's because a "stranger", or particularly, myself, isn't going to hold judgements over one person or another, but rather search for logic and reason in the situations themselves.. And I pride myself in my empathy for multitudes of people's personalities, and I genuinely want to help people understand not only their relationships with PEOPLE better... But their relationships with THEMSELVES better.. And THAT... Is where it all begins. When you understand yourself...your abilities to spread compassion and understanding through everyone you touch is intensified. That is my goal, and I want to help people, like people have helped me understand myself..
