Owning A Guinea Pig
As someone who grew up taking care of guinea pigs, I can answer all the questions you might have about housing, diet, behaviour, exercise and pregnancy.
I've been the proud owner of many guinea pigs during my entire life. This is why I was able to learn a ton about these little balls of fur and I even became the mom of 5 baby guinea pigs! Guinea pigs can be very difficult to read when it comes to behaviour and overall health. Whenever a guinea pig is sick or experiencing pain, it won't always show clear signs. As a veterinary student, I've been trained to recognize a sick or uncomfortable animal as well as which steps to take next.
So if you're ever in doubt about your guinea pig(s) or are super enthusiastic and dying to own one, let me know!
Training & Qualifications
I'm obviously a huge guinea pig lover! I mean, they're basically waddling potatoes. What's not to love? As far as my recollection goes, I've owned 12 guinea pigs so far (including the two I currently own). I literally haven't spent a single year not taking care of guinea pigs and I probably never will.
Apart from my life-long-guinea-pig-owning-experiences, I also happen to be a veterinary student. I've been trained to recognize a sick or uncomfortable animal as well as which steps to take when dealing with a sick animal.
