My education has provided me with a current understanding of the biological and psychological factors of schizophrenia, the medical and therapeutic treatments currently in use for schizophrenia, and some of the directions that research in the area is headed. I am most intrigued by the problems of improving effectiveness of non-medical treatments, and increasing availability of treatment options to those affected.

My experience in a Social Relations lab in the Psychology Department of Columbia University exposed me to some of the research techniques used in psychology today, and the day-to-day experience of working in a psychology lab.

I am currently attempting to apply a synthesis of what I have learned about schizophrenic perception and suited adaptive environment treatment to improve the condition of my aunt who has schizophrenia, with whom I visit once a week.
