A molecule's structure and synthesis are often described using artistic expressions like beautiful and elegant. Like most chemists, I love to create molecules that are more beautiful than anyone expected and more useful than anyone imagined.
Currently, my team is responsible for the discovery of new small molecules that enable many of Promega’s innovative luminescent and fluorescent products across segments including drug discovery, cell health, metabolism and biomolecule detection. My research centers on the intracellular detection of the interactions between endogenous and exogenous molecules including selective protein labeling, novel pro-luminescent probes for enzyme and biomolecule detection, novel fluorescent tracer and dye development, and novel bioluminescent substrates.
I have co-authored over 30 journal articles/reviews and invented on 29 issued patents and 81 pending patent applications.
