I will meet with you and your dog to help work out a plan to address whatever frustration or issue you might be having. I work with positive reinforcement only. I can help train your puppy with the basics, any age dog with the basics, help redirect bad behavior into good, consult on more serious behavior issues if needed, and help you integrate a new dog into your family. This is generally a service that requires more than one session, but develops skills and habits that last a lifetime. Some common topics include: polite leash walking, not jumping on people/greeting manners, learning to ask for attention/play/food, obedience, appropriate play, addressing destruction, barking, and house-soiling along with anything you can think of. I am happy to work with you via Skype if necessary, although meeting in person will lead to a much better result.
Training & Qualifications
I am qualified to work with dogs and have studied both training and behavior modification with Pat Miller, a well-known positive trainer and behaviorist. I have worked with families privately and in a large animal shelter as a behavior technician where part of my duties included training dogs to be more adoptable, working with behavior problems to move dogs to the adoption floor, and consulting new adopters with any questions or issues they might have once they brought their new family member home. I have been working with animals since 2009. I am currently a vet tech and trained to look at your dog holistically and consider any possible medical issues that might contribute to your dog's undesired behavior.
