Japanese Miso Soup lesson & recipe

I will, via text with video and photos, over FaceTime, or over Skype, walk you through cooking a pot of your own Japanese miso soup. You gather the ingredients before hand from a list I will provide, and I will go through the process, step by step, and answer any questions you may have.
We can make a traditional miso, or we can deviate from tradition with some truly unique ingredients available at your local Asian market. Together, we will:
-Make your dashi broth
-prepare your miso
-prepare the additives of your choosing- (traditional or creative)
-Cook the soup
-Discuss serving options
-Discuss variation ideas
-Intro to Japanese mealtime etiquette
-You will get a PDF of the recipe emailed to you
This session will last approximately a half an hour. Let's make something tasty!
Training & Qualifications
I have been making miso soup for my Japanese family for many years. My husband is from the Tokyo area of Japan, and has lived there for many years of his life. His family still resides in the area, and we visit as often as we can. I learned to make this traditional soup while visiting, and it's easily my most favorite dish!
