Practice your listening - French

20

20 per hour - Virtual OK - Posted Mar 16, 2017

You are learning French? It is very likely that your teacher or mentor will ask you to read a few chapters from a beginner's novel everyweek. To help you "acquire the ear" faster, I offer you to read outloud a few chapters of your book to you, if I can manage to find it for free.

Not only is this good for your listening, but I can mimic different accents, or even explain paragraphs you did not fully understand, thus helping you improve your French in general.

Training & Qualifications

I have been tutoring French for two semesters, and among my students were also some exchange students.

Since foreign cultures and languages fascinate me, I have the necessary patience to listen to your needs and questions.

Availability & Preferences

I am available during week-ends, wednesdays during the day and friday afternoons.

Trading Preference: I’m flexible, just hit me up!

About Pascale Gauthier

Hi, my name is as above. If you can't pronounce my first name, just call me Peggy! As of today, I am studying in E.H.S.T (technical degree oriented towards Environment and Worker's Conditions), but... I have also completed a session at the Bachelor's degree in Sexology, which followed my previous degree in Social Sciences. Furthermore, on the professional side, I have cumulated different work experiences through student jobs, notably in the fields of customer service, photography, food banks (sorting & distributing foodstuff) and cooking (breakfast & dinner). As you probably noticed by now, English is not my primary language. I fluently speak French, and I have some basics in Japanese, Spanish and German, though the later was learned from a 1950's Berlitz method. I also tried to learn Russian at some point, but I never fully went through the basics. I would be more than glad to have conversational chats in any of the listed languages above, either to improve my own skills or yours. On a more personal note, I enjoy drawing, socializing, cooking, shopping online, binge watching shows and gaming (a little bit) during my leisure time. I've also shown deep curiosity for languages and foreign cultures eversince I was a child, and whenever I feel motivated enough, I dig into books to extend my vocabulary and deepen my knowledge. I have travelled a bit, and I would love to take a long trip to Europe or Asia someday. Hopefully, I will have mastered the intermediate level of one or two local languages and will be able to pyt my skills to test. Finally, if I had to compare myself to an object, I would pick water: I always find a path through obstacles, and I adapt to my environment. I can be as resfreshing as I can seem cold, and my moods flow like a river; one day I can feel relaxed and be a listening friend with soothing words, and the other I can be tumultuous and spin around the house while listening to blastingly loud Disco music. Send me a message if you feel like it! 😜 show more
