Two Hour Wine 101 Lecture & Tasting
65
After several requests from friends, I will be hosting a group of 5-8 people of legal drinking age - providing them the bare basics of wine and vinification.
Following my fast-paced lecture packed with information, we will slow down to answer brief questions, then finish with tasting a wine. I have trained restaurant staff all over the world using a tasting method that is heavily modeled after the Court of Master Sommelier's deductive tasting format. We will sample wine as a group blindly, which means you will not know the wine label until it is revealed at the end. Gem winemakers, small productions, and rare wines will find their way into all my class curriculum (we won't be tasting any Charles Shaw).
I will be contacting everyone on a first come, first serve basis. One or two alternates will be selected in the case of a high class demand. Once we have a full group, I will be contacting the group and setting a date most likely a week or two in advance, depending on group consensus. In the future, I plan on diving deeper into very specific topics within the wine world, as well as classes consisting of multiple blind tastings.
I will require THIS Wine 101 Lecture & Tasting to be a prerequisite. Certified CMS, ISG, and equivalent need not attend my Wine 101 Lecture to join my other wine events and blind tasting sessions. My classes are fun, casual, and as unpretentious as possible. Should you be working in the Las Vegas area in the hospitality scene, wine knowledge is essential, and will help build your craft as an F&B professional.
