If your pet is ill and under the care of a veterinarian, I will review records, talk with you about your options, and/or talk to the other veterinarian about the case. This is not meant to undermine your relationship with your veterinarian, but just to add a second pair of eyes to the situation. It is important to understand all the options when you have to make a difficult decision about your companion animal. I have been in small animal and exotics (pets other than dogs and cats- birds, small mammals, reptiles, etc) practice for 32 years and will be able to explain anything that's not clear to you.
