Outdoor Education Party Programs!
45
I will provide an hour worth of outdoor programing, resources, and teaching for children (or adults with an inner child) at parties, gatherings, scout meetings, etc. Material will be adjusted for the desired age group. Clients may choose one of several program options (or suggest one of their own):
-Planting Party: learn about different kinds of soil, the parts of a plant, and how it grows. Guests will plant their own seed (or seedling, depending on availability) to take home with them.
-Trash Queens: learn about different kinds of waste and ways to recycle. Guests will compete in recycling challenges and have an opportunity to learn about and see vermi-composting (compost with worms) in action.
-Nature Walks: get a grasp of what nature truly is while walking in any local natural setting. Guests will learn about symbiosis-- how life all connects and works together to survive-- and will weave a human web to demonstrate that connection. We may also encounter and discuss wildlife, animal tracks or scat, and various types of insects, plants, etc. Guests will also make and take home a Nature Journal.
-Garden Party: tour a local large-scale garden (depending on availability) and become familiar with different types of garden plants, what they look like, and how they grow best. Guests will have the opportunity to taste garden fresh produce, while listening to old legends and folklore about gardening.
