Beginning his musical endeavors in the 6th grade, Mike learned to play classical violin and has always had a close connection with music. Following a musical direction into high school while developing a keen interest in video, Mike learned video editing and production. His early work was placed in the prestigious Northwest High School Film Festival. After graduating high school Mike started a professional audio rental company which successfully ran for nearly decade, providing sound reinforcement to hundreds of music festivals and concerts throughout the Northwest. The zenith of these experiences brought Mike into the custom audio/video industry. Beginning as an apprentice technician and quickly moving through the ranks to a lead technician then journeyman, Mike was soon leading large custom projects on his own.
Mike’s passion for audio/video coupled with his ability to complete technical projects on time and budget took him to the next level by becoming the Installation Manager at Madrona Digital. Using his ability to run projects smoothly and mentor his growing group of talented technicians he strives for perfection and vigorously supports the advancement of continuing education for all the Madrona Digital Technicians. Mike also holds numerous professional CE and CEDIA certifications.
Using his years of knowledge of custom automation, audio & video systems and professional audio systems, Mike has joined the Classroom Technology & Events team at the University of Washington. A department under the umbrella of UW Information Technology, Mike and his team's goals are to keep 300+ classrooms equipment and technology up to date and functional on a daily basis as well as provide Tier-1 & Tier 2 technical support to end users.
Mike also runs Around the Sound Events and Entertainment. Offering sound, lighting and hosting services for weddings, corporate events, parties and much more.
