About Michelle Nguyen

I am a Yoga Teacher and teach Hatha style yoga. I’ve been practicing yoga since 2012, but have only recently graduated from a RYS – 200 program. I study multiple styles of yoga and continue my trainin...g by taking classes to learn new skills. I have a background in martial arts; a black belt in Kenpo Karate and 3rd Kyu in Yoshinkai Aikido. This is an excellent foundation for yoga and has served me well teaching women’s self-defense courses. I am also an avid knitter; I own my own yarn dyeing company and sell yarn in an Etsy shop. I knit all sorts of garments from hats, scarves, mittens, all the way up to sweaters with colour-work. I’ve taught lectures and one-on-one classes to a wide range of knitters with different skills and abilities. Through my business, I’ve acquired a wide range of Photoshop and graphic design skills. I love fantasy novels, movies, and TV shows. As an English and Communications Major who also has a Journalism degree, I have a respect for excellent writing and witty humour. I write for multiple publications and edit text. I’m also a very active person. Running half marathons (hopefully a full marathon) and participating in triathlons. Getting out I love getting out and doing new things. I’m looking forward to trying axe throwing and battle archery. I really enjoy travelling, but I don’t usually have to budget to do it. There are a lot of locations on my bucket list! I’ve only travelled around Canada and the USA, but going across the pond is going to be coming up in the next couple years. I am a very high energy person and love hanging out with others. I am always good for a joke or funny meme.
