I earned a BFA in sculpture and photography and a BA in writing, from there I headed into the world of books, managing at the Tattered Cover Bookstore, working for Denver Public Schools cataloging in their Library Services department and then for a short while I was the assistant to the director of the Colorado Center for the Book. Next I moved into the birthplace of books- publishing, heading the sales team and then running marketing for photographer John Fielder at Westcliffe Publishers and then moving to Fulcrum Publishing in Golden where I was the author liasion with notable authors like Gary Hart, George McGovern and Anita Thompson (widow of Hunter S. Thompson), and coordinated trade shows, updated the website, blogged and scheduled author appearances.
During all these full time endeavors, I ran my own burlesque troupe, Burlesque As It Was and performance school, Vivienne VaVoom School of Burlesque. I traveled around the country for burlesque and wrote a book on the subject, "Burlesque and the New Bump-n-Grind" which lead to media appearances, lectures, and when it was translated into Finnish, a press and performance trip to Helsinki.
I've also wrote and designed blog posts and the newsletter for Cutcaster, a stock photography company.
Currently I still perform and teach. I've also recently launched my own event and funeral planning service, Frolic & Vamp/Bon Voyage and I work part time for the fabulous Colorado based rum company Montanya Distillers. Denver event powerhouse Dana Cain has hired me as Kitchen Pavilion manager for her Denver County Fair and Ambiance Engineer for her Modernism show.
