Growing up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, I immersed myself in the budding creative energy of the city. I pursued my passion for the arts at Western Carolina University, where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Honors and honed my skills in design.
Between volunteer and professional work, I have gained experience in a wide variety of fields and environments. When I began working as a cashier at the end of college, I decided to gain everything I could from the position, focusing on customer service, time management, and optimizing any facet of the job within my power. Soon my hard work paid off, and I accepted the Customer Service Manager position where I was able to grow even further. While forming positive relationships with my employees, I try to embody a teacher rather than a dictator, working to establish a positive work environment, together.
Despite my many responsibilities in management, I have been quietly and consistently developing another skill set too, learning to code responsive and interactive websites. Combined with my well-developed sense of design, adept problem solving skills, and approachable communication style, I believe I have built a solid foundation to flourish in the burgeoning tech industry.
As part of the Millennial generation, I grew up surrounded by technology. I intimately understand and appreciate the way good design can enhance products, and ultimately garner the success of an organization. I am confident that my skills will be a valuable asset to any type of business, and I look forward to learning the ins and outs of a new landscape. My hope for the future remains, as with every position I have held, to find a home where I can be challenged, use my expertise, and grow professionally.
