About Matthew Schmookler
With my unique background in both Tibetan Medicine and Tibetan Yantra Yoga, I'm specifically interested in working with people on the mind and energy level through physical applications such as diet, lifestyle, herbal formulas and external therapies. While Tibetan Medicine is effective in treating many physical conditions such as digestive disorders, there is such a gap in the Western world between the mind and body, I believe Tibetan Medicine has a special role in this field. The easiest way for us to access the energy and mind is through the physical body. Our body survives on eating three times a day in combination with our daily routines. It is much easier to adjust these habits to find balance then to try and approach the mind directly, even with mental suffering such as stress and depression. This is also true for energetic disturbances causing problems related to the nervous system such as anxiety, nervousness, insomnia, ADD, Alzheimer's and so forth. Tibetan Medicine has a deep understanding about the interdependent link between the physical body, the energy and the mind. When we use diet and lifestyle changes in combination with therapeutic treatments such as herbal formulas and Tibetan Kunye massage, we can see profound results quickly.
