I teach horseback riding lessons to children and adults. I love what I do, but I am not business-minded. There have been times I have forgotten to ask for my money after teaching, it feels so awkward after a lesson to say, "Great ride! Now pay me!" So often I wish I could say to a client, "Oh, you're a tree trimmer? Forget the cash, can you just trim my trees in exchange for this lesson?" But alas, this sort of thing is frowned upon in "civilized" society. I would prefer to live in a world where we can barter our skills, trades and crafts. So here I am.
