To see what is in front of us, to understand what we perceive while looking at pictures, to discover what is individual about this experience, and to invent the ways in which this experience can be ma...de visible to others as well – This is the ars poetica of ‘diaméter’. But what makes the visual approach of three young artists not only new, but also relevant in an international context? These three young artists from Central Europe take an intermediate position in multiple ways. They not only integrate different European artistic traditions with precision and accuracy in their artwork, but they also endeavor to combine their knowledge and personality in order to make the outcome an exciting and thoughtful visual experience characterized by great care and purity. The artwork of ‘diaméter’ lies somewhere between photography and graphics. The artists keep the peculiar advantages of both genres, but in their method none of these gets an exclusively dominant position. Throughout the entire process, from elaborating on the idea to its actualization, photography and graphics inspire and strengthen each other. It is the long lasting friendship between the artists – Lucas, Daniel and Fülöp – which makes this intriguing collaborative work possible. Their artwork is not only based on a mutual and deep understanding, but with all of their images they try to make personal points of connection which also serve as a common basis for building the conception. Consequently, the outcome also reflects their personality. The great care with which the artists approached their task is perceptible for viewers as well thus helping them to establish close emotional attachment to the image. For members of ‘diaméter’ minimalism primarily means filtering out all the disturbing factors, which would hinder the direct understanding of those meanings and thoughts that they conceived in accordance with the customer’s expectations.
