My name is Leah. I'm twenty years old, I'm LGBT+, I'm mentally ill, and I'm a student attending a small liberal arts college in Massachusetts. My concentration is in molecular biology- specifically concerning origin and evolution of early life. I'm hoping that my education will take me down a path that will ultimately lead me to becoming one of the first astronauts to step onto the surface of Mars. Of course, what I study and what I want to do with my education are a more of a conversation than a statement! If you want to know more, feel free to ask.
I have little work experience. But, don't write me off as one of those 'lazy jobless millennials' just yet. Despite my lack of professional experience, I devote much of my time to developing professional skills, doing freelance work, and volunteering on my college campus. It's not just to bolster a résumé, either! Some skills and experiences are just worth having, I think.
So, what are my skills? I think it's worth mentioning that I've got the millennial superpower: the ability to pick up on anything pretty quickly. If we don't know how to do something, give us twenty minutes and Google and we'll figure it out! Research is mostly how I've built up my other skills, too- a wide array from writing, color theory, musical arrangement and composition, photomanipulation, the French language. If I want to do something, I learn how to do it!
I'm hoping to both offer what help that I can to people, as well as broaden my horizons by meeting new folks, having new experiences, and learning new things.
