I was very involved with the swing dancing community in Louisville the last couple of years (mostly East Coast, some West Coast). I also learned some basics for cha cha, salsa, and blues.

Lauren Spavelko is a singer, pianist, violinist, teacher, and composer/arranger from Pickerington, Ohio. Lauren recently earned a Masters in Music Composition at the University of Louisville. She ...earned a Bachelor in Music Education at Ohio Wesleyan University. She is an Ohio-licensed music teacher. Lauren enjoys composing accessible and engaging music which incorporates tuneful melodies, mixed meter, and layering. Her music is influenced by various genres, including classical, musical theater, folk, and film, among others. She composes and arranges for orchestra, choir, and chamber groups. Lauren has been actively involved in the Central Ohio musical community. She has performed with the Columbus Symphony Chorus. As a teacher, she trains young musicians in voice, piano, and violin in her independent studio. She has also directed ensembles such as the Glen Oak Strings Program and the Central Ohio Homeschool Choir. As a performer, Lauren is very versatile, performing in both commercial and classical productions. She has performed complete roles and scenes with the University of Louisville Opera Theater as a graduate student, learning more about singing, acting, and stage movement. She also enjoyed portraying contrasting roles in the Ohio Wesleyan Opera Theater, including works by Menotti, Britten, Viardot, Puccini, Mozart, and more.show more
