About Lauren Fell

Originally from Sydney, I hold a BA Psych (Hons) from Macquarie University. Moving to Brisbane in early 2014, I joined a research group at QUT specialising in theoretical physics, and took a particula...r interest in the application of theories of quantum physics to cognitive phenomena. I have since worked in multiple research assistant positions at the university, where I enjoy learning through, assisting in, and developing varied experiments to test these exciting theories. In the past I have worked in data entry, retail, call-center, and an interesting stint in door-to-door sales (in Sydney and Dublin). I’ve been an electrician’s assistant, medical secretary, and I now work 2-4 days a week in Usability and Accessibility, additional hours as a secretary to a psychologist, a mental health support worker on Fridays, and research assistant at QUT across two projects (quantum processes in image trust decisions and virtual reality for disability) for the remainder of my working week. In addition to this, I run my own business developing a program to assist in the diagnosis of ASD, for which I won the Lord Mayor's Budding Entrepreneur Grant. I am always in search for new opportunities to grow my skills and maintain my out-of-the-box thinking by incorporating angles from as many different types of industries as I can.show more
