Pruning - Ornamental and Fruit

Thinning
When light is allowed to shine through a thinner layer of leaves, the leaf color, shape, and the tree’s inner structural beauty, is more visible and pleasant to the eye. Thinning also lightens the stress on branches and, promotes less wind resistance during storms.
Ornamental Pruning
Japanese maples radiate and glow when the light shines through the leaves on skillfully pruned limbs. This can mean the difference between a weeping maples looking like a “mushroom” of foliage vs. a lacy veil. This service is very similar to thinning.
Fruit Tree Pruning
Scheduled annually, this maintenance will not only create a more pleasing and useful shape, but also make pest management easier. Different fruit trees require different pruning styles to maximize fruit bearing surface. Young trees may need to be trained, as wells as, pruned twice annually to get it on the right path. I can asses your fruit trees and help them to be their most productive.
Limbing
The removal of specific branches promotes pleasant views in your garden, as well as, provide a less restricted walk way. In some cases shrubs can create unsafe conditions by blocking your view near a driveway, which can be corrected by pruning.
Bonsai Pruning
Bonsi trees require annual maintenance to train, restrict growth, and accentuate branch form. I can provide this service on trees less than 12 ft.
Shrubs
Some shrubs bloom on old wood and require pruning soon after blooming, while others bloom on new wood and can be pruned with less time restriction. Drastic pruning is often required to rejuvenate old thick woody stems so that fresh young, and sometimes colorful wood can take its place. Moreover, there is nothing worse than beautiful fragrant flowers 8 ft high where you can’t enjoy them. Roses also have different pruning needs depending on if they are climbing roses, landscape shrub roses, or tea roses. I can asses the pruning needs of your shrubs and deliver pleasant results. I can even teach you how to do it yourself if you would like to work along side me.
