Line & Copy Editing Short Stories
15
Occasionally I call these two together ‘word-smithing’.
Line editing: A line-by-line look at your writing, focusing on paragraph and sentence structure, word use, etc. with the aim of creating a smooth flow of writing.
Copy editing: A tighter focus on the mechanics of writing, looking for grammar, spelling, and punctation errors, incorrect word uses, logic lapses, and continuity problems.
I will read and edit a short story up to 7.5K words. My preferred genres are science-fiction and fantasy, but I am willing to read almost any genre (please wait on your explicit story until our third or fourth exchange).

I freelance edit and write short stories myself. I have edited published tabletop role playing games as well as written for several. I can be found on scribophile as well: https://www.scribophile.com/authors/laura-briskin-limehouse/
