Sample Projects
EcoAtlas Landscape Profile—an on-line tool for landscape-scale synthesis of environmental data –
www.ecoatlas.org [public release June 2013]. Managed the tool development with a focus on user needs for wetland mitigation at the watershed scale. Worked with an 8-person project team to execute complex tool development.
California Aquatic Resources Inventory (CARI)—led the development of the statewide dataset of California’s wetland resources. Formed a technical advisory team consisting of staff from various academic institutes, local, regional, state, and federal government agencies, and science organizations to collaborate on the development of a CARI SOP protocol document. The CARI SOP recommends the process and requirements for developing CARI to support the state’s emerging Wetland and Riparian Areas Protection Policy.
Green Infrastructure Master Planning—development of an integrated GIS and hydrological modeling tool that identifies high leverage areas for green infrastructure investment and estimates the reduction in storm water flow and contaminant loads in these targeted sites. Work closely with local agencies to ensure this tool provides information required to prioritize funding and/or develop green infrastructure master plans.
Bayland Ecological Habitat Goals Update for Climate Change—quantified habitat change in SF Bay from 1850 to current day and estimated future changes based on known restoration activities. Used existing sea level rise scenarios to understand the opportunities and constraints for wildlife and habitat migration in the face of climate change.
