We think about the future…
As a nonprofits that host interns we are in essence mentoring a future nonprofit leader(s). We think how will the intern's experience shape his/her perception of working professionally in the nonprofit sector? An interesting assignment, with opportunities for feedback and growth, that is clearly tied to the mission of the nonprofit of choice, that will send the signal that the nonprofit community is a meaningful place to work.
We will initiate entry level through management internship opportunities that can turn into permante placement available in the sector. Our nonprofit promotes the mission of the organization among the local community. He or she might organize events, recruit volunteers, or arrange other projects to get the community excited about and invested in the enterprise. Jobs in development might attend to fundraising planning, securing financial support, creating special events for donors, and running other projects to ensure the organization meets its annual goals.
Our number one goal is to.....
Build Relationships: This internship experience is not just about getting work experience. It is a great networking opportunity. Building relationships at the organization can help you beyond your internships.
Participation : Don’t feel at anytime confined by written learning objectives. As long as you are accomplishing your goals, you may also want to ask about attending other meetings both inside and outside the office. It's all about taking the iniative. There is so much to learn from observing and understanding organizational culture, interactions, power dynamics, leadership practices, and team work.
This is just a brief over view of what and why we are here creating opportunities for others to grow with the needed experience for their professional career field of expertise.
