About Joe Kong

I’m a passionate entrepreneur with a BS in Accounting and Finance and experience in audit. I’m currently completing a Masters in Intl Business. Working at Deloitte, UK for various technology clients ...accelerated my interest in technology and gave me a broad understanding of different business models and strategies at different stages of maturity. However, I felt the need to be in a creative environment and make a positive impact with others. So, I left the UK to teach English in China and learn more about the culture, economy and technology. It was a great feeling to be part of China's transitory growth and to help students make an impact on the world and reach a wider range of people. Subsequently, I taught extra hours to save up for an intensive Master of International Business (MIB) program in San Francisco. While studying at Hult, I’ve become interested in tech startups and have immersed myself in the following activities: 1. In Sept 2016, I founded Teach English in China -– where I recruited a English teachers from all over the world to teach English in China. 2. Am launching a social web and mobile app project with a technical partner that connects people via parlor games. 3. Have completed courses in Agile and Product Mgmt at Lynda and Udemy. 4. Completed SQL and JavaScript Codecademy courses.
