About Joanna (Yijing) Rong

Growing up as a third culture kid, I also grow up with a world view. Because I must master a new set of behavioral norms every time I move to a new country -- I am the keen observer of human nature ...-- no matter how strange it may seem – I tend to be accepting of different perspectives. Therefore, I am proud to use Norma McCaig's quote from his book "Growing Up with a World View" to describe myself: "in an era when global vision is imperative, where skills in intercultural communication, linguistic ability, mediation, diplomacy, and the ability to manage diversity are critical, global nomads are probably better equipped than others." Currently graduated from the University of Toronto with an HBS degree, I am interested in opportunities that will utilize my analytical, problem-solving skill and my unique adaptability, as well as my passion for healthcare, science and technology. I also believe in collaborative leadership, and I often act as a liaison between different groups and departments at works and at school to achieve resource sharing, stimulate influential work, and maximize the impact of each party. In the next five-year, I hope to land on an ideal career involving most or all of these elements: 1. A team with a culture of collective success and people orientated excellence. 2. Global exposure opportunity. 3.
